Lake Como also offers a rich gastronomic scene. The region is famous for its local dishes that combine fresh ingredients with traditional recipes. In the restaurants by the lake you can taste both Italian classics or specialties typical of the region. Try the Saffron Risotto alla Milanese, Polenta with mushrooms, Buckwheat pasta with cheese, cabbage and potatoes called Pizzoccheri or the lake fish Pesce Persico.
