Whether you are looking for relaxation, adventure or want to immerse yourself in local history, you will definitely find something to suit your needs from our tips. The ideal starting point for a cruise on the lake is the dock down in Varenna. The towns of Menaggio and Bellagio are the only ones accessible by regular boat and ferry. Many other places along the entire lake are also worth visiting. An overview of the most interesting ones, which in our opinion are definitely worth a visit, can be found in the Landmarks. 

If you plan to spend the whole day around the central part of the lake and visit, for example, Villa Carlotta or Villa Balbianello in Lenno (for more information, see the Famous Villas section), a full-day HOP ON/HOP OFF ticket is worth it. There are several daily train connections between Lecce and Colico. There is a direct train from Varenna - Esino station several times a day, which takes you to Milan Centrale station in 55 minutes. You can buy a ticket at the station or on the company's website Trenord. 

Known for its picturesque landscapes and majestic mountains, Lake Como offers a wide range of excursions for nature and adventure lovers. The area around the lake boasts many hiking trails that lead through picturesque villages, forests and rocky peaks. 

The region is famous for its fresh ingredients and traditional recipes that reflect local traditions and history. You can taste fish from the lake, local cheeses or local pasta.
